About RipePrice

RipePrice is an independent buying-guide website for shoppers in the United States. We write plain-language guides to eco-friendly and gentle everyday products: paper goods, cleaning, kitchen, personal care, baby care, pets and more. Each guide explains what the labels mean and how to compare prices, so you can decide what to buy and when.

Who runs it

RipePrice is published and operated from the United States, and the guides are written for US stores, US labels and US rules. You can reach us at contact@ripeprice.com.

Editorial policy

• We explain labels. We do not promise results. We do not say a product cures, treats or prevents anything, that it is completely safe, or that it works better than another. Where health is involved, we send you to a doctor, dentist, pediatrician or vet.
• We do not make up numbers. We do not invent prices, discounts, savings or statistics. When a guide gives an example, it is labeled as an example and shows its arithmetic, and you can repeat it with your own prices.
• We do not claim to have tested products. Our guides are about reading labels, comparing cost per ounce, per use or per year, and spotting vague marketing. Terms like "natural," "non-toxic" and "eco-friendly" are treated as claims by the seller, and we point to the specific wording and certifications to look for.
• We follow the rules for environmental and product claims, including the FTC Green Guides, and we describe certifications in general terms so you can check the details with the certifier.
• Corrections. If something is wrong or out of date, email us and we will fix it. Each guide shows when it was last updated.

How we earn money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and in affiliate networks such as AWIN and CJ, through which some stores are our affiliate partners. Commissions never change the price you pay, and they do not decide what we write. See the full affiliate disclosure. We do not accept payment from brands to be featured in a guide.

Price tracking

We are adding price tracking category by category. Where it is available, we record store prices once a day from the stores' own data, show the time each price was retrieved and keep a 90-day history, so you can see whether a sale price is a real one. Amazon prices are never displayed on RipePrice. We link to Amazon so you can see the current price there. Where tracking is not available for a category, we do not show prices.
